Praying at Night during the 40 Days 4 Life

Hey you all,
The Prayer vigil went great. I asked Kathy to set my clock for 1 am, then I checked it to be sure. I went to bed at 8p.m. right after "60 minutes" I woke up at 1:07 and the alarm hadn't gone off. Lucky me. I got dressed quickly and went. I got there at 1:35 am and a couple of guys (Dave and John) from church were there. They were the 12 to 1 hour but hung around until someone came so it was good I got there early. They prayed for me then took off.

A police officer came by and he was a christian and we shared our testimonies. It was kind of cool sharing with a cop. You wouldn't believe this but a lady then came by. She was a lawyer and had gotten up early because she had to write a court brief. She said she felt led to sing a hymn. She had the lyrics on a sheet of paper and at about 2 a.m in the morning a cop, a lawyer, and a teacher were singing a hymn in front of an abortion clinic.

The rest of the time I tried to kneel and pray but my knees and ankles were killing me. I am getting so old. It was a beautiful night though. I prayed for the abortion doctor, my family, but I'm afraid I prayed mostly for me because I was so uncomfortable. I tried reading my bible and read a couple chapters from Job.

Ron from bible study came about 2:54 to relieve me. Yeah! Thanks Ron, it was sure good to see you. I asked him if he wanted to borrow my pad I used to kneel on and he said that he would just stand. I should have done that. Next time I will. My kneeling days are over.

On the way home I was stopped by the police on the freeway. I thought that was funny because I can't remember the last time I was stopped by a cop, maybe twenty years ago. He asked what I was up to and I told him I was praying at the abortion clinic and he said he stopped me because my headlight was out. I didn't know. He let me go. Weird. I got home and getting back into bed never felt so good. Tired now but I feel really good about what I did. Really good. I really feel a sense of fulfillment, that I bore witness for the Lord.
